Open a bank account at LHV
Account opening for a student is free of charge in LHV Pank and there is no monthly fee.1 Also, we offer free European payments and instant payments. If you are under the age of 26, your bank cards are free from the monthly fees as well. In LHV, we have a convenient and fast internet bank, so you could easily manage your funds without going to a bank office.
You can start applying for an account online and to start enjoying your time in Estonia, we suggest starting with it as soon as possible.

Make an appointment
Book an appointment to our client office and for „Subject“ please choose „Opening account for a foreign student“
Visit our client office for identification and contract signing
When you are coming to our client office, please make sure you bring:
- a valid identity document (for example a passport or ID-card)
- certificate from Estonian educational institution regarding enrolment
In the office we will make face-to-face identification and sign the client agreement with you.
Clients who do not hold Estonian residence permit cards, can not be digitally identified, so we will ask you to come to an LHV office. We provide service in Estonian, Russian and English.
If you hold an Estonian residence permit card, you can use LHV internet bank to make transactions quickly and comfortably.
If you would like to use our internet banking options, but you do not hold an Estonian residence permit card, it is possible to purchase a PIN-calculator from our offices.
Once you have completed your studies in Estonia, do not forget to close your account with us. For this you should contact us info@lhv.ee
After you have opened an account...
Log in
You can enter our internet bank using your ID card, the e-resident’s digital ID, mobile-ID, Smart-ID, password, or password generator issued by LHV.
Make payments
When sent as an instant payment, funds are received in seconds at any time of the day or night. Free.
Order a bank card
If desired, you can order a payment card that supports contactless payments and Apple Pay. Home delivery by mail is free within Estonia.
