How to play?

Purpose

The player’s goal is to attain the maximum value for his or her portfolio by the end of the game by investing.

Virtual Portfolio

At the beginning of the game virtual portfolio of 10,000 € will be transfered to player’s account. At the end of each business day, 1000 € will be added to the player’s game account.

Trading

Trading is only possible with shares listed in indexes Standard and Poors 500. S&P 500 index fund SPY, Tesla and Alibaba are also included in the game.

Winner

The game will be won by whoever has the securities portfolio with the highest market value as at the end of the trading day on 2 November 2018.

Prize

The stock market game prize fund is 8000 €.

Terms and Conditions

1. Game
1.1. The stock exchange game Börsihai 2018 (hereinafter ‘the game’) enables the player to invest virtually in US stock exchanges.
1.2. The game is organised by AS LHV Pank (hereinafter ‘LHV’ or ‘organiser’). The game portal is available online at www.lhv.ee/shark in Estonian, English and Russian.
1.3. The game will run from 8 October to 2 November 2018. Registration is open from 4 October to 15 October.
1.4. At the beginning of the game, each player’s virtual portfolio (hereinafter ‘portfolio’) will consist of 10,000 €. The organiser will add 1000 € to the player’s portfolio every business day.
1.5. The player’s objective is to achieve the maximum value of his or her portfolio by investing. The game will be won by the player who has the securities portfolio with the highest market value as at the end of the trading day on 2 November 2018.
1.6. By joining the game, the player confirms that he or she has reviewed and accepts these conditions.

2. Participation and registration
2.1. Anyone who agrees to these terms and conditions may participate in the game.
2.2. LHV staff may also participate in the game but they will not compete for prizes.
2.3. To participate in the game, you need to register as an LHV user and create a game portfolio of 10,000 € in virtual game money.

3. Scoreboard
3.1. The game scoreboard can be tracked online at www.lhv.ee/en/shark/ranking.
3.2. Scoreboard is updated every morning at 7.
3.3. The top 50 players will be displayed in the scoreboard with their full name.
3.4. Previous day’s transactions of top ten players can be tracked on the scoreboard.
3.5. LHV employees are marked accordingly on the scoreboard.

4. Prizes
4.1. The player with the securities portfolio with the highest market value will receive a prize of 5000 €, a book on investment and a 6 month subscription to the digital edition of Äripäev or Delovõje Vedomosti.
4.2. The player with the securities portfolio with the second highest market value will receive a prize of 2000 €, a book on investment and a 3 month subscription to the digital edition of Äripäev or Delovõje Vedomosti.
4.3. The player with the securities portfolio with the third highest market value will receive a prize of 1000 €, a book on investment and a 3 month subscription to the digital edition of Äripäev or Delovõje Vedomosti.
4.4. The organiser will contact the winners after the end of the game.
4.5. Each week of the game, the best youngster up to 19 years years of age (including) will receive an additional prize of 100 €. In total, four awards of 4x100 € are available for youngsters. Additional prizes will be handed over by the organiser during the game.

5. Trading limits
5.1. Only shares listed in indexes Standard and Poors 500 can be traded. Organiser will publish the list of shares in the game portal before the start of the game.
5.2. Organiser has the right to change the list of shares during the game.
5.3. The following transactions are prohibited and the organiser has the right to cancel them:
5.3.1. transactions that would not be possible in real life (for example, the purchase or sale of a suspended share);
5.3.2. any transactions linked to abnormal prices on the stock exchange;
5.3.3. it is forbidden to manipulate the market to achieve a better position.

6. Effecting transactions
6.1. Transaction orders can be issued via the game portal at www.lhv.ee/shark.
6.2. Players can issue orders at limit and market prices.
6.3. Transaction orders can be given 24/7. For this, an amount in the player’s account is reserved, using the latest current share price in the system and the current currency mid-market rate. In the case of a share sale, the amount from the sale will be converted into euros immediately at the current mid-market rate.
6.4. The service charge on transactions in the game is 0.1% of the transaction amount.
6.5. Any orders at market prices are completed approximately 20 minutes after the order is issued, at the latest price on the market. The limit price of a limit order and the price of the final transaction must coincide.
6.6. The remaining transactions are completed at three minute intervals and therefore an additional delay of up to three minutes may occur. A transaction may be delayed if the limit order cannot be met due to market conditions.
6.7. If the final price of the share is missing, the order shall remain on hold until the end of the day and it will be cancelled if the final price has not been incurred.
6.8. Both purchase and sale transactions are made at the final price.

7. Transaction timetable
7.1. The game runs on business days as the stock exchanges are closed on weekends.
7.2. Each day at 7:00 the market value of the portfolios is calculated and a scoreboard compiled. At 16:30 trading begins on US markets. At 23:00 the entry of orders for a given day ends on US markets.
7.3. Transaction orders entered after the last opportunity for entering orders for the current day will be postponed until the following trading day.
7.4. Shares in the portfolio are re-valued on the morning of the following day, based on the stock exchange closing prices of the previous trading day. The value of the portfolio is calculated as the aggregate total of the value of the shares and available funds in the account. If at the close of the trading day, the funds balance is in the negative, it will be deducted from the amount transferred into the account on the following day and from the market value of the shares when the game ends.

8. Players' rights and obligations
8.1. The player is under an obligation to follow these terms and conditions and the principles of fair play in his or her activities.
8.2. The player is obliged to register as an LHV user under their actual first name and surname if they are not already an LHV client, otherwise they will not be eligible to apply for prizes.
8.3. The player has the right to freely choose the user and portfolio name, but they must be in accordance with good manners and practices.
8.4. When registering for the game, the player grants the organiser the right to display the player’s name, user name and portfolio name along with the contents of the portfolio and the transactions.
8.5. In the case of misunderstandings and problems, the player has the right to contact the organiser at info@lhv.ee.
8.6. Disputes concerning possible violations of these terms and conditions will be resolved by the organisers by means of a poll, regarding which the organiser will inform the players in the game forum in the Finance portal and in which all players can participate. The poll will be conducted by the organiser in the game portal at www.lhv.ee/shark.

9. Organiser’s rights, obligations and liability
9.1. The organiser is not liable for any incorrect or false information, no matter whether due to actions by a participant of the game, the provision of information to them, or programming-related technical or human errors that interfere with the running of the game.
9.2. The organiser is not liable for any consequences in the game resulting from errors, interruptions, deletions, operations, information exchange delays, communication line faults or access by any unauthorised persons.
9.3. The organiser is not liable for any consequences due to the non-functioning of telephone networks or lines, computer networks, computers, software, e-mail or internet connection.
9.4. The organiser has an obligation to respond to obstacles arising in the game and to do everything to eliminate them. If the game is interrupted due to technical problems, the organiser is not obliged to allow orders to be executed after the interruption or later.
9.5. The organiser is entitled to remove a player who is in breach of these terms and conditions from the game.
9.6. The organiser is entitled to make amendments or additions to these terms and conditions by providing notification of this on the game portal. Among other things, the organiser is entitled to adjust or make amendments to the price of the transaction order, the price underlying the portfolio revaluation and the list of securities traded in the game.
