The Estonian Biathlon Federation started cooperation with the largest domestic financial group and capital provider, LHV Group, which became the major sponsor of Estonian biathlon.

‘At LHV, we are fans of Estonian sports, and that is why we are glad to start working with the Estonian Biathlon Federation. As an Estonian bank, we care about Estonian sports and culture, and we want to contribute to the growth of Estonia’s reputation in the world. Supporting biathlon is a great way to do this, as it is a sport that appeals to many people, we have strong Estonian athletes, and in spring, for the first time, there will be the World Cup Biathlon taking place in Estonia,’ Kadri Kiisel, the Chairman of the Management Board at LHV Pank, says.

‘The Estonian Biathlon Federation is extremely pleased to start a cooperation with a successful large Estonian-based company, whose values and track record are a great example for the Estonian skiing community,’ Assar Jõepera, the President of the Estonian Biathlon Federation, says. LHV’s support will help the Federation to cover the costs of the competition season of both the national team and the youth team, as well as to continue to support the growth of youth sports. ‘In today’s ever-changing world, a cooperation contract in the volume of a major sponsor is a great honour and confidence in the work that biathlon athletes and the people around them do,’ Jõepera adds.

Already in early spring, the BMW IBU World Cup will be held in Estonia for the first time, when the penultimate stage of the season will take place in Otepää from 10 to 13 March. In addition to the World Cup, the Estonian biathlon athletes also compete at international level in the IBU Cup series and the IBU Junior Cup series.
