Registration has started for the LHV Maijooks, which has a new main sponsor. Estonia’s biggest women’s movement event will take place on 21 May at Tallinn Song Festival Grounds, and virtually from 1 to 21 May.
The organisers of Maijooks and LHV signed a three-year cooperation agreement to support the continuation of the annual spring tradition, which already started in 1988. From this year, the most popular women’s movement event in the region is called LHV Maijooks.
‘Over the years, the Maijooks has become a top spring event in health sports for Estonian women, which is eagerly awaited and where people go for common good emotions. At LHV, we certainly want to contribute to a healthy lifestyle. Supporting LHV Maijooks will help to promote health sports among women and continue to provide an inspiring goal to run regularly and contribute to their health,’ said Kadri Kiisel, Chairman of the Management Board of LHV Pank.
On Saturday, 21 May, women and girls will be able to compete in two distances at LHV Maijooks on the Tallinn Song Festival Grounds. At 12:00 mid-day, the youths will start the three-kilometre RIMI Girls’ Run. An hour later, at 13:00, the start will be given for the highly popular seven-kilometre LHV Maijooks main distance, which can be run, walked, or completed by Nordic walking. You can choose between timed and untimed distances. The running and walking trails will take participants along the paths and health trails around the Song Festival Grounds and Maarjamäe. There will also be a traditional spring concert at the Tallinn Song Festival Grounds, and time can be spent at the great spring health fair.
In the case that LHV Maijooks cannot take place in its usual form this year, the participation fee will be refunded in full to everyone wishing this. It is also possible to carry over your participation to the following year or to the virtual run.
The virtual LHV Maijooks, which will take place from 1 to 21 May, includes a children’s run and the 21-kilometre Maijooks combo, which all movement enthusiasts can handle. The half-marathon distance must be covered either by running or walking in sections until the required distance is reached. Everyone will be able cover the distance they have registered for on the route of their choice within three weeks in May, following the established rules. As the virtual run, ongoing from 1 to 21 May, is also a great motivational training tool for women before the main event at Tallinn Song Festival Grounds on 21 May, then those who register for both the regular and the virtual run at the same time will get a significant discount on the entry fee.
Maijooks is Estonia’s biggest ever women’s health and physical activity event, with more than two hundred thousand strong women having spent time sporting over the past thirty-four years. The first Maijooks was already held back in 1988.All news
