You and your kids live online. So do the risks.
The internet is part of everyday life for the whole family. Cyber Insurance combines Telia Shield, Telia cyber support and insurance cover by LHV Kindlustus into one package.
How it works
Prevention, support and financial cover all in one
Even the most careful person can fall for phishing, a fake online shop, cyberbullying or extortion. Built together by LHV and Telia, Cyber Insurance gives you a clear plan for these moments and covers eligible losses when they happen.
Telia Shield
Blocks unsafe websites, phishing links and malware before they reach you, right on your Telia Home internet network.
Telia Cybersecurity
Helps to decide whether to contact your bank, the police, the platform (online store), an IT expert or LHV.
LHV Cyber Insurance
Covers losses or reasonable costs from an insured event, within the agreed terms and limits.
Who it's for
Built for you and your family
If you’re a Telia Home internet customer looking to protect yourself and your household online, this is for you.
The cover extends to family members living at the same address, including a spouse or partner, children up to 21, and the policyholder’s parents.
It's worth having if:
- Your kids are on smart devices, social media or gaming online.
- You shop online or through social media ads.
- Your home runs on smart tech like TVs, tablets, security cameras, robot vacuums.
- You work from home office.
- You’d simply feel better knowing what to do and who to call if something goes wrong.
What's covered
Four main covers
Cyberbullying
From fake accounts and humiliating posts to threats or private photos shared without consent, cyberbullying takes many forms.
Insurance Cover can include costs for:
- Psychological counselling
- Removing harmful content
- Cleaning affected devices
- Strengthening your security
- Other reasonable costs tied to the incident
Example
A fake account pops up using a child's name, sharing offensive content. The family collects evidence, calls Telia's cyber support and reports it to the police. The insurance helps cover counselling and getting the content taken down.
Cyber extortion
This is when someone threatens to encrypt, delete or leak your data unless you pay them.
Insurance Cover can include costs for:
- IT professional’s help
- Cleaning affected devices
- Removing malware
- Recovering data
- Other reasonable costs tied to the incident
Example
You open what looks like an invoice attachment and suddenly your files won't open. You see a ransom demand on the screen instead. Telia's cyber support walks you through it, and the insurance helps cover cleaning the device and recovering your data.
Important
The ransom itself is not covered.
Phishing
This is what happens when a scammer tricks you into giving up passwords or card details, or approving something that hands them access to your account, device or money.
Insurance Cover can include costs for:
- Recovering your account
- Ensuring secure access
- Inspecting and cleaning the affected device
- The direct financial loss itself, if your bank or payment provider won’t reimburse it
Example
A message claiming to be from a parcel locker service leads you to enter your card details on a fake page. Unauthorised transactions follow. Start with your bank to dispute them. If you're left with the losses, the insurance may cover the them for you.
E-commerce fraud
You order something in good faith from an online store or marketplace, but it never arrives and your money isn't refunded.
Insurance Cover can include costs for:
- The direct financial loss, if the goods or service don’t arrive within 14 days of the agreed or expected delivery date and you can’t get your money back from the bank, platform or seller.
Example
You see an ad on social media for a coffee maker at a very affordable price. The online store looks trustworthy and you pay for the goods. The goods don’t arrive, the seller doesn’t reply, and you can’t get a refund. The insurance may cover the loss.
Important
Transactions between private individuals are not covered. For example, a Facebook Marketplace purchase from an individual seller.

Typical scenarios and how insurance can help
What's not covered
This insurance is built for the unexpected, but not everything that happens online falls under it. Deliberate risk-taking, everyday business activity, and losses someone else already reimbursed aren’t covered.
For example:
- Business activities or income generation
- Losses from intentional acts or gross negligence
- Investment losses, fines, late fees or other penalties
- Ransom payments
- Losses from handing over cash, gift cards or crypto during a phishing scam
- Transactions between private individuals
- Losses from before your cover started
- Anything already reimbursed by a bank, platform, seller or other party
Good to know
Think of this as protection against the unexpected, not a catch-all for every online risk. It doesn’t cover every loss arising in the digital world, nor does it cover situations where the risk was known and accepted, or where the loss is reimbursed by another party.
If something happens
First steps after a cyber incident
Speed matters here. Hold off on deleting anything or restoring your device until you’ve had guidance.
- Pause. Don’t make new payments or confirm any transactions.
- Contact Telia’s cyber support and follow their lead.
- If you lost money, get in touch with your bank or payment provider straight away.
- Fraud, extortion or bullying involved? Report it to the police.
- Hold on to evidence: screenshots, links, correspondence, transaction details and logs.
- File your insurance claim with LHV with the necessary documents.
If you don't take these steps and the loss ends up bigger as a result, the insurer may reduce the payout or not pay at all.
Frequently asked questions
Limits and excess
| Maximum indemnity per cover | €2,500 | under a single cover |
| Aggregate limit per claim | €10,000 | total per insured event |
| Excess | €100 | applicable to each claim |
Where multiple losses arise from a single incident, they’re generally treated as one insured event. For example, if you enter your details on a phishing site and this leads to several unauthorised transactions on your account, that counts as a single event.
The exact limits and excess are stated on your insurance certificate.
Important information
Cyber Insurance is offered to private customers of Telia Home internet and requires an active Telia Shield subscription. The insurer is AS LHV Kindlustus, and Telia Eesti AS acts as the insurance agent for LHV Kindlustus.
The exact scope of cover, sums insured, sub-limits, excesses, exclusions, insured persons and claims settlement procedure are set out in the terms and conditions and on the insurance certificate.
The insurance doesn’t cover every loss incurred online. Before ordering, read the terms and conditions and the information document, and make sure the cover meets your needs.
