LHV launched an innovative banking service in Estonia

16.06.2025

Domestic LHV Pank has launched a modern and comprehensive solution, LHV Premium, which breaks the norms of benefits offered to private clients and elevates the banking experience for more demanding private clients to a new level, combining everyday banking, insurance, and investment with the convenience of travel services.

According to Annika Goroško, the Head of Retail Banking at LHV, a thorough analysis and client feedback showed that expectations for comprehensive banking services have significantly changed. ‘We respond to client requests and present the new standard and status of LHV Premium. This offers a different value than before to LHV clients both today and in the future,’ Goroško said.

‘In terms of the entire client status management, we are offering a unique and much broader value proposition than others in the market can match,’ Annika Goroško confirmed. ‘Premium is a new norm for those who appreciate a more comfortable and personalised service, and are willing to invest in it,’ Goroško noted. She added that the Premium client status is not determined by income or assets: all LHV clients who derive value from it can use the service. Banking is moving closer to the individual with every step, and thus LHV, as a bank with 468,000 users, considers it crucial to be a reliable partner for every client in their diverse endeavours.

‘In the future, Premium could be the banking standard for clients, who value convenience, security, accessibility, and the best price-to-quality ratio,’ Goroško claimed. The Premium client status replaces the concept of the Au-client, which has been on the market for over ten years and is aimed at clients who value convenience, and currently used by nearly 13,000 clients. ‘For a monthly payment of 20 euros, Premium offers more than just banking services: it is intended for those who travel and invest, and who use various banking services at different stages of life,’ Goroško explained.

Travelling with comprehensive insurance and priority security screening

The LHV Premium cards offer comprehensive travel insurance for the whole family, including medical and accident insurance, travel interruption cover, baggage cover and liability insurance, as well as motor own damage insurance for rental cars.

At the same time, the Premium card ensures access to more than 1,700 airport VIP lounges worldwide, regardless of which airline you fly with or in which class you are travelling. At the airport, the Fast Track service provides additional convenience, allowing you to proceed to security control in priority queue.

‘Based on the needs of travellers and clients’ desire for easier access to cash, we offer the opportunity to withdraw cash up to 1,000 euros per month without service fees using the Premium credit card at all bank ATMs in Estonia and Europe,’ Annika Goroško noted.

Purchase insurance ensures peace of mind

When shopping, the Premium cardholder is covered by purchase insurance, which protects durable goods bought with the Premium card for 180 days after the purchase. Insurance helps in cases when the item is broken, destroyed or stolen.

The items are insured at a purchase price of 100–5,000 euros. The limit for indemnity is 5,000 euros per loss event and up to 10,000 euros per year. The client’s insurance deductible in case of a loss event is 30 euros.

When using the Premium bank card abroad or making a transaction in a foreign currency (for example, in US dollars), the transaction will not incur the bank’s currency exchange or conversion fee. Usually, it is 1% of the transaction amount.

40-day interest-free period

The Premium credit card includes a credit limit for the client starting from 1,000 euros and the interest-free period is up to 40 days. To repay the used credit limit, one can choose a monthly automatic repayment of 0–100% of the credit limit, but the client can also repay the limit at a time and amount that suits them best.

Wide range of discounts in insurance, financing, and investing

For the Premium clients, the selection of LHV insurance products is 20% off. The discounts on financing products include, among other things, free conclusion of the home loan agreement, payment of notary fees when refinancing a home loan, and a lower leasing agreement fee.

‘We want to offer the best protection for every situation to our Premium clients. The benefits of LHV Kindlustus are designed so that clients can protect themselves and their property affordably and without worries,’ Annika Goroško noted.

‘LHV has created financing benefits to make life easier for the Premium clients and help them achieve significant goals, whether it is buying a new home, refinancing an existing loan or purchasing their dream vehicle, where the leasing agreement fee is only 100 euros for the Premium client,’ Goroško said.

‘We believe that our clients’ money deserves the best growth opportunities. We have created discounts in order to support our clients in achieving their financial goals, including both growing daily savings and making informed investment decisions,’ Goroško said.

For the Premium clients, the holding of foreign securities up to 500,000 euros is free. The transaction fee for securities is 0.14% (at least 3 euros) on the USA and Germany stock exchanges, and Baltic analyses are free of charge.

The LHV Au-client status has been a valuable companion for many for over ten years, but now it is time to take the next step. The Au-client can decide for themselves how they wish to proceed from here on – important steps will be sent to LHV clients via email and can be found in their mobile app or online bank.
