Over the year, Estonian football fans and members of the clubs’ community collected a record of EUR 128,242, thanks to payments made with the LHV Football Card. The support will reach the cardholders’ favourite clubs during the month of November.
LHV’s Football Card is the official fan card of Estonian football, with which its owner can help to quietly generate support for his or her favourite club. For each purchase made with the Football Card, LHV will pay 10 cents to the card holder’s football club of choice. There are a total of 5255 LHV Football Card users, with the average cardholder having raised EUR 24 during the year to support their favourite club.
Kadri Kiisel, Chairman of the Management Board of LHV Pank, is pleased that LHV has a certain place in the local football community and that the opportunities created are being used with increasing activity.
‘Over ten years, LHV Football Card users have collected more than EUR 500,000 for their favourite clubs, simply by paying for their daily purchases. We want the use of banking services to be as easy and convenient as this, from opening an account to investing and supporting your favourite club. It is a pleasure to see that football fans have also become fans of LHV and that our products are actively used,’ said Kiisel.
According to Aivar Pohlak, President of the Estonian Football Association, the record support shows the growing community of Estonian football. ‘People who associate themselves with the Football Card are people for whom a club or a national team is important, and there are increasingly more people like that. It is possible to make a significant contribution by just expressing one’s principles, i.e. by choosing the LHV Football Card. A big thank you to the entire football family and to LHV Pank working together with whom is much more than a regular partnership,’ said Pohlak.
In terms of clubs, the biggest support, in the sum of EUR 9165, was once again collected by the fans of Tartu JK Tammeka by making purchases. They were followed by Tallinn FC Flora, with EUR 9074, and Nõmme Kalju FC, with EUR 4789. Football fans raised EUR 17,950 over the year to support the Estonian Football Association. A total of 134 football clubs from all over Estonia receive support.
The LHV Football Card is the official fan card of Estonian football and LHV Pank pays 10 cents from the purchases made in support of the cardholder’s chosen football club. There is a 10% discount on full price tickets for the home games of the Estonian national team and admission to the home games of the youth national teams is free of charge. The Football Card can also be ordered virtually.
LHV has been supporting the Estonian Football Association and the Estonian national team since 2010.
