The leading international economic magazine Euromoney has named LHV Bank the best bank in Estonia for the fifth consecutive year.

The well-known economic magazine unveiled the best banks in various countries and regions last night as part of its “Awards for Excellence 2022” programme.

Strong 2021 results, ambitious activities and noticeable market share growth in the Estonian banking market brought LHV success in the competition this year. Consideration was also given to LHV’s technological innovations, as well as steady progress being made towards fulfilling the company’s sustainability objectives.

‘In the Estonian banking sector, LHV stands out with its successful operations, which benefit both clients and the development of financial services. We’ve worked hard to provide the best experience for bank clients, we’ve put digital banking at the heart of everything we do, which means LHV’s clients don’t need to visit a bank branch and all the operations can be done without leaving home. The best service, the best employer, the best service channels – we are happy to see all of this being recognised in the Euromoney competition,’ commented Kadri Kiisel, Chairman of the Management Board of LHV Pank.

Bank of America was recognised as the best bank in the world this year. Banco Santander was voted the best bank in Western Europe and Erste Group was named the best in Central and Eastern Europe.

When awarding prizes, the economic magazine Euromoney annually reviews the details of more than 1,000 candidates, compares the banks’ financial results, growth numbers, and development activities over the last 12 months. The prizes of the ‘Awards for Excellence’ programme have been awarded by Euromoney to the best banks since 1992 and it is the oldest and one of the most prestigious awards in the financial sector. This year, a record number of candidates applied for the Euromoney national and regional banking awards. The best were chosen in more than 100 countries.
