15.07.2021

For the fourth year in a row, the leading international economic magazine Euromoney declared LHV Pank the best bank in Estonia.

The best banks of countries and regions are announced by the renowned international economic magazine Euromoney as part of its ‘Awards for Excellence’ programme.

LHV was successful in the competition this year thanks to its good handling of the effects of the Covid-19 virus, several developments in digital banking and other financial products, as well as the successful issuance of mortgage bonds and outstanding growth numbers in terms of business volumes, profitability, and number of clients.

According to the CEO of LHV Pank, Kadri Kiisel, the recognition received reflects the continued high level of LHV, which is also noticed abroad. ‘Various studies have shown that LHV has already been providing its clients with the best service for several years, we are an attractive employer, we have the best internet bank and investment services, and these are all recently accompanied by green certificates. We ourselves believe that we are operating the best bank – it is simply great to be noticed. We consider it important that Euromoney has already recognised us with this title four times,’ Kadri Kiisel commented.

This year, BNP Paribas was announced as the best bank in Western Europe and OTP Group the best in Central and Eastern Europe.

When awarding prizes, the economic magazine Euromoney annually reviews the details of more than 1,000 candidates, compares the banks’ financial results, growth numbers, and development activities for the last 12 months. The prizes of the ‘Awards for Excellence’ programme have been awarded by Euromoney to the best banks since 1992 and it is the oldest and one of the most prestigious awards in the financial sector. This year, a record number of candidates applied for the Euromoney national and regional banking awards. Read more about the regional awards at euromoney.com.
