As of today, investing in LHV is almost two times cheaper

As of today, LHV has a new price list for securities trading, which cuts several investment-related fees by almost half. The aim is to make investing more affordable for people in Estonia and motivate them to think more about future security.

According to Sander Pikkel, Head of Investment Services at LHV, the foundation of the Estonian investment community is made up of small investors who have managed to develop a savings habit alongside their everyday spending and are looking for ways to grow their money. These include perfectly ordinary good people - teachers, medical staff, rescuers, police officers and client service representatives. "Investing is an integral part of LHV's bloodstream and every step we take to grow our money is important. As a result of the fee reductions, the LHV Growth Account is now the best place to buy securities for investors who buy individual shares for less than 200 euros per month," Pikkel said. He pointed out that this investment behaviour characterises about a third of the LHV money-raising community, and the pattern is likely to be similar among small investors in Estonia as a whole.

Competition in the investment services market has become much fiercer in recent years. "LHV started out as an investment company, so our roots are in the investment business. We are the leader of the Estonian investment market, which shows a high level of trust and motivates us to actively evaluate our pricing and services," Pikkel noted. He added that Estonian investors have a lot to gain from strong competition in the market.

The new price list applies to LHV Growth Account, Securities Account and Trader clients. The biggest changes are related to the first of these, which is now actively used by almost 60,000 clients across Estonia - about the same number of people living in Lääne-Viru County. Thus, the fee for a Growth Account purchase transaction has been reduced from 1% to 0.5% and the minimum sales fee from 9 euros to 5 euros. In addition, LHV Growth Account purchase transactions will henceforth be completely free of charge for young people up to the age of 26. More details about the updated price list can be found here.

According to Pikkel, nearly half of all Estonian residents' securities are held in LHV today. "We want to offer the best possible combination of price, platform reliability, best client service and functionality - be it automated investing or ease of tax reporting. It is fair to admit that changes to LHV's investment services price list have been expected for some time, but such decisions require thorough analysis," Pikkel stated. He stressed that consistent saving and investing is one of the most effective ways to build financial confidence. "We hope that lowering fees will help people to be more courageous in pursuing their dreams and achieve a more secure financial future," said Pikkel.
