LHV and the Estonian Football Association are taking cooperation into the next decade

17. December 2019

The Estonian Football Association and LHV extended their cooperation, which began in 2010, by a period of five years, stepping into the next decade together.

According to the agreement concluded on 15 December, LHV Pank will continue as the main sponsor of the Estonian Football Association and the Estonian National Team. The successful Football Card project will also be continued. The total volume of support offered by the new agreement over the five year period is 1 million €, which may be increased by the active use of LHV’s Football Card by the bank’s clients or if the National Team reaches the finals.

Erki Kilu, Chairman of the Management Board of LHV Pank, emphasised that cooperation between LHV and the Estonian Football Association is a good example of a long-term and well-thought-out partnership. ‘Football plays an influential role in Estonia: thousands of fans, from young to old, together with their relatives and supporters, form a progressive network with sporting lifestyles across Estonia. We have enjoyed the opportunity to contribute to the development of Estonian football and we are happy to be able to continue as a partner of football clubs and the federation in the next decade,’ said Kilu.

‘Our first decade of cooperation has amplified many different meanings, one of the most important of which is faith in Estonian culture and community based logic. Both LHV and football have a responsible role to play in Estonian society,’ said Aivar Pohlak, President of the Estonian Football Association. ‘Many thanks for the support so far and for the continued excellent cooperation,’ he stressed.

LHV Group is the largest domestic financial group and capital provider in Estonia. LHV Group's key subsidiaries are LHV Pank and LHV Varahaldus. LHV employs 430 people. LHV’s banking services are used by 198,000 clients, and pension funds managed by LHV have nearly 177,000 active clients.
