LHV is investing in its own AI computing capacity and buying its own AI servers. Owning the hardware will allow the company to run AI models in an environment it manages itself, with the servers expected to go into operation in spring 2027.
Mihkel Kasepuu, Chief Technology Officer of LHV Pank, says demand for AI computing capacity is high across the technology sector worldwide. “Acquiring our own hardware secures LHV long-term and predictable access to the computing capacity our development work requires, independent of the wider market,” he said.
The investment also changes the economics of LHV’s AI development in the longer term. It gives LHV a predictable cost base on which to expand its AI development in the coming years. “Our own computing capacity gives us control and independence. Models are evolving rapidly, and hardware owned by LHV will run whichever model we currently consider the best. The cost side matters just as much. With our own hardware, wider use of AI no longer means proportionally higher costs. Our employees use AI every day, and that usage is growing. The investment means we can support that growth over the long term,” Kasepuu concluded.
