LHV became the first bank to offer its clients the opportunity to order a virtual ISIC student identification card via a mobile app. You can add an International Student Identity Card to your other cards in the LHV mobile app.
The virtual ISIC (International Student Identity Card) is an international student identification card contained in the LHV mobile app, with which you can prove your student status and use thousands of discounts conveniently with a mobile phone, both in Estonia and abroad.
According to Liis Lepik, LHV Youth Bank Project Manager, the addition of a virtual ISIC student identification card to the LHV mobile app is a very practical and awaited addition. ‘We want to keep pace with young people, listen to their ideas and wishes, and offer innovative solutions that really are useful. We see that young people are innovative and increasingly prefer to do their daily tasks, including banking, via their mobile telephone. The added opportunity to order an international ISIC student identification card in LHV’s mobile app is definitely a welcome convenience solution,’ said Lepik.
The official representative of the ISIC brand in Estonia is the Federation of Estonian Student Unions (EÜL), which has issued ISIC cards since 1993 and virtual ISIC since 2016. According to Eleri Pilliroo, Chairperson of the Board of the EÜL, they are pleased that LHV has also added the option to order a virtual ISIC student identification card to its mobile app. ‘Starting this autumn, for the first time we will be offering the possibility to order an ISIC virtually without the need for an accompanying plastic card. ISIC is the world’s most popular student identification card and it can only be applauded if owning and ordering one is made even easier. ‘To the best of our knowledge, LHV is the first bank in the world to offer such an opportunity,’ she said.
All of LHV’s clients who are at least 16 years of age and studying in a higher education curriculum in Estonia or abroad can order a virtual ISIC student identification card. Ordering a card is very easy and takes only few minutes. To do so, open the map view in LHV’s mobile app, click on the plus sign indicating the addition of a new card, and select ‘ISIC virtual card’. Next, you will need to add the name of your school and a photo of yourself, and review the contract terms and conditions for the virtual ISIC student identification card. Following confirmation of the entered data, the completed virtual ISIC student identification card will be displayed among the cards in LHV’s mobile app.
With an ISIC student identification card, you can travel and shop more affordably in Estonia and nearly 130 other countries around the world. The purpose of the international student identification card is to prove the card-holder’s status as a student anywhere in the world. This means that when travelling, the student has the same rights as the students of the country being visited and the right to use all the benefits offered by the card.
