Do you have any sustainability preferences for the financial instruments in your portfolio?

You have not entered an answer

Before answering this question, we kindly request that you read the brief explanation of the term “sustainability preferences” that follows in the next paragraph. This will help you provide an objective response.

As part of assessing the suitability of investment products under the European Union (EU) investor protection rules, your sustainability preferences for investments should be identified. “Sustainability preferences” refer to your choice of investing a portion of your portfolio in financial instruments that meet a higher level of sustainability. These instruments can be classified into three categories:

  1. Instruments used to invest in economic activities that substantially contribute to the EU’s environmental objectives and have been included in the EU taxonomy for sustainable economic activities. For example, activities contributing to climate change mitigation or adaptation.
  2. Instruments used to finance economic activities that, while not meeting all the requirements of the EU taxonomy for environmentally sustainable activities, are aimed at contributing to broader choice of environmental or social goals (such as reducing inequality). According to EU regulations, these types of investments are referred to as sustainable investments.
  3. Instruments used to invest in companies that strive to mitigate negative impacts on sustainability factors in their business activities. These investments take into account principal adverse impacts and are assessed using specific indicators defined by EU regulations. These indicators include greenhouse gas emissions, share of non-renewable energy or hazardous waste, diversity of governing bodies, and pay gap.
Investments falling under the first two categories must not only contribute to positive impacts but also adhere to the principle that the economic activity invested in should not significantly harm other environmental or social objectives. In addition, issuers comply with good governance practices.
Investments that promote some aspect of sustainability alongside other investment objectives without systematically adhering to the principle of avoiding significant harm to other environmental or social objectives are not considered to meet the standard of sustainability preferences.

At the moment, LHV does not offer any strategies within the securities portfolio that comprehensively cover the aforementioned sustainability preferences. If you have indicated having sustainability preferences, LHV will be unable to provide a suitable asset composition for your profile or offer securities portfolio management services.
